Any of you wondered how the worlds greatest search engine looked like way back upon it’s creation? That would be about 10 years ago. With some minor adjustments Google’s search page has remained the same. Simple (no ads or other pictures/news/weather/etc), easy to use, immense index of pages and speed were it’s key features which lead to success.
